Talk Plugin

PING’s TALK Plugin is a collaborative communication tool designed specifically for Sitecore XM Cloud environments. It adds a contextual comment panel to each page within the content management interface, enabling editors, marketers, and stakeholders to engage in real-time discussions directly tied to the content.

Plugin Features

Streamlines Feedback Loops

This feature streamlines feedback loops by allowing users to leave comments, suggest edits, and flag issues - all within the page itself - eliminating the need for external communication tools or disconnected review processes.

Integrates Seamlessly into Workflows

Built as a modular Sitecore Marketplace app, TALK leverages Sitecore’s extensibility framework to integrate seamlessly into existing workflows.

Supports Timestamped Comments

It supports timestamped comments with names of contributors, making it ideal for distributed teams working on complex content projects.

Embeds Collaboration into Authoring Experience

By embedding collaboration into the authoring experience, TALK enhances productivity, reduces miscommunication, and accelerates content approvals - ultimately helping teams deliver more accurate and engaging digital experiences faster.

Getting Started:

To begin using the TALK plugin in your Sitecore XM Cloud instance, follow these steps:

Admin Setup

An organisation admin should initiate the setup by accessing the TALK plugin window. From the dropdown menu in the top-right corner, select “Install Templates and Buckets”. This action will configure the necessary data templates and storage buckets required for comment functionality.

Page Activation

Once installed, the TALK panel will appear on each content page within Sitecore. Editors can begin using it immediately to leave comments, suggest edits, or flag issues directly tied to the page content.

Using the Comment Panel

Navigate to any page in the content tree. The TALK panel will be visible in the left-hand sidebar. Users can:

  • Post comments or suggestions.
  • Change your username.

Technical Notes:

To uninstall, delete the following items in the Sitecore Content Tree

  • /sitecore/system/Modules/Talk
  • /sitecore/templates/Modules/Talk

This will remove all talk history and templates
